Gunfight at the O.K. Corral…?
Do you believe the events leading up to the famous gunfight were accurately depicted in the movie Tombstone? If not, why not?

I think they were accurately depicted to a certain extent. However, I don’t know of any movie that sticks completely to historical facts, when doing those types of movies. They have to spice things up, to make the audience want to watch it. Anyway, the myths and facts surrounding that gunfight are so varied, that nobody really knows what exactly happened anyway. All we have to go on is heresay.

Annie Get Your Gun (1950)

IMDB rating: 7.20

Frank Butler, the star sharpshooter in ‘Colonel Buffalo Bill’’s show, however, knows full well that’s not how ‘The Girl That I Marry’ must be. Anyway, not at least until he finds that ‘My Defences are Down’. Though Annie defiantly says ‘Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better’, she realizes that ‘You Can’t Get a Man With a Gun’. The victor at the end is love; as you know, ‘It’s Wonderful’. After all, ‘There’s No Business Like Show Business’.

Need help picking a good audition song…?
Hey, I need both a ballad and a more upbeat song choice… I am mainly an alto, for an example of my range, I’ve done "Can’t Get a Man With a Gun" from Annie Get Your Gun and "I Love a Piano" from White Christmas… I’m looking for something directors won’t groan at (aka, over used songs, aka anything from Wicked, Hairspray, Rent, Phantom of the Opera, or Grease…)
anyone have any suggestions?
sorry… I am definatly an alto, my range is pretty basic, I can’t go that high…

You haven’t said whether you are soprano, alto second alto, whatever.
This would help a great deal in what you can sing to impress with your voice. I would suggest a song that the octave is very comfortable with the range of your voice. For instance a soprano could get far with "Over a Rainbow" , a second soprano could get far with "Moon River", an alto could pick from a variety of songs like you have mentioned or "Tomorrow", "God Bless America", or "Love Story".
Do you understand what I mean? Good Luck on your pick and kick some butt with your talent.

How about something from "Seussical the Musical"
Someone | Oct 25, 2009

Hmm. I had the same problem. I can sing comfortably anywhere from Soprano 1 to Alto 2. You might want to look at "You must love me" from Evita. Very beautiful.

Have any memorable feats of gluttony?
What is the most gluttonous thing you’ve ever eaten?

Some of mine:

Box of 24 snickers ice cream bars in one day.
1lb of blueberries in a day.
One large Panettone in a single sitting.
Ate a whole jar of Nutella in one sitting with a teaspoon.
Regularly eat those bags of salad meant for 4 people.
Ate an 8lb bag of costco frozen fruit in 1 day.
2 boxes of toaster strudels over the course of Schindler’s List.
16 mangos in a day.

overeating leaves bad memories.

On vacation with my friend, we destroyed a pizza, two large cheesy breads, chicken strips, and two desserts from Papa John’s. The room we were in was covered with empty boxes and 4,000 napkins lol (we did clean up before we left, of course!)

How do you become an american mail order bride?
I am an american woman and am looking to become a mail order bride to someone in another country. Any help on how to get started would be appreciated.
too bad everyone has to be so damn critical and smartass… hope i get some real answers
just lookin for that free ticket out of the Us and into the arms of some rich fool with an accent, you already know.

It’s far less common to have a "mail order bride" (nowadays an "internet bride") come from the US. Most of the time, these women are beautiful girls from countries where they have little to gain by staying there as they cannot become financially independent and need a man to support them and their families at home. They see marrying a rich American man as their only way to success. The men that use the agencies are usually very wealthy but unable to find a woman that meets their standards physically – often because they are not as attractive as other men. In other words, they are usually 5s looking for 10s.

There aren’t many (if any) agencies for American women to become internet brides because American women have many opportunities to become financially independent.

You would be better off finding an online personals site in the country that you wish to move to, get to know a few men, and then plan a trip out to meet them.

EDIT: Most of the world’s "rich fools" live right here in the US of A, sorry.

LOL. You go to mailorderbrides.com….. If you’re serious then IDK. but try it.
Allie! | Jan 14, 2008

Start by selling yourself on the nearest corner. Maybe one of the Johns will marry you.
warrior | Jan 14, 2008

they only do that in poor countries so that the bride’s family, or the bride can get money out of it
bfs_4_evr | Jan 14, 2008

The easiest way to do it is to find a local dating (or match-making) agency in the country where you want to find your husband. And for a reasonable fee, this agency will advertise and do whatever is necessary to establish contacts between you and interested men.
Nick Z | Jan 14, 2008

have you google searched it ? .. Google is great for everything , even sellin yourself !
lilredhead | Jan 14, 2008

Perhaps working hard to earn your own money and living in a different country to fill out papers legally is out of the question…
Dien | Jan 14, 2008

Carefully research the countries you are interested in. You might find that you’re making yourself a slave, rather than a valued wife. Wealthy men from any country don’t usually ask for mail order brides, because they already have plenty of women flocking them. In America, mail-order brides are sent to the West, where ranchers, farmers, and other working men out number the women. It might be the same in the country of your choosing, so don’t be surprised if you end up with a POOR man with an accent. Unless you speak another language, check on English-speaking countries only, or your life and potential marriage will be much harder. The previous answerer is correct there is a website called mailorderbrides.com. I’ve heard others speak of it on here. As to how reputable they are, I cannot say. Good luck.
Always_Kaitlin | Jan 14, 2008

Hunny, I’m sorry, I am honestly not trying to be a smartass here…. Why do you want to be a mail-order bride?? You do realize it is equilvalent to prostitution on many levels, right? Only, here, prostitution can actually be considered better for the simple fact that with prostitution, you are only selling yourself to a man for one "rendezvous" which in the end, anyone can fix by just not doing it anymore…. but with this scenario, selling your life away to be a bride is selling yourself to a man for the rest of your life and it is permanent. Yes, there is always divorce, but what if your husband decides he never wants to lose you? I mean, after all, he did marry you without even knowing you, who’s to say what he’ll be capable of and what his motives are of you? Human trafficing is against the law. With our country going haywire over Mexican illegal immigration, imagine how it would be if they even thought about letting "mail-order brides" come and go as they please. Plus, sometimes when women do dangerous things like this, there are devastating consequences like rape or murder or abuse. Please do think this over before you try anything.
But really, what about love? What about knowing the person you sleep with at least 5 hours before you do? What about morals? I don’t know… hope I didn’t seem like a wiseass but the thing is, I think you needed to be informed this is a crazy decision. Be careful.
PunklyPut | Jan 14, 2008

Get in a box and have someone take you to UPS, but the postage is going to be really high. So, it would be better to stay here in the good ole USA and if you have looks, class, etc you might find just what you are looking for……and you wouldn’t have to worry about suffocating in that box!
flax9 | Jan 14, 2008

Why in the heck would you want to do that??? Are you insane??? You have no idea what can happen to you in another country. Have you heard of sex slaves? No one can be that desperate….
